Living and Dining Room Flooring

Mark’s family has owned a floor covering store since 1902, with his grandfather and father establishing B. I. Rosenhaus & Sons in 1947. As experts, you will be advised on the most appropriate flooring to satisfy the look and feel of your entire house.

Popular flooring choices are vinyl tile, wood and carpet.

Vinyl Tile

Is a very durable, easy care material with fantastic simulations of wood and stone.

Wood

Comes in several forms: solid, engineered and laminate. All types come in a wide variety of species and stain colors to suit your decorating preference.

Solid wood

Is either glued or nailed to a sub floor which, if in poor condition, may need to be prepared before installation.

Engineered wood

Is real wood in several thicknesses adhered to plywood or MDF board depending on manufacturer, style and your price level. It is installed with a tongue and groove connection loose, nailed or glued to the floor.

Laminate flooring

Is also a tongue and groove connection installed loose over a thin padding with baseboard molding holding the ends in place. A very high quality photograph of the simulated material is laminated to a high density substrate with a durable wear layer providing many years of beauty.

Carpet

Adds warmth and is quiet underfoot and to your neighbors below. Nylon is very durable and with stain guard is easy to clean. Wool has a greater resiliency in retaining its pile height and some brands are eco-friendly, as well.
